GoToFile overview

GoToFile is a fast, flexible and accurate utility to access files and folders on your Mac.

We all know and love macOS' Spotlight and GoToFile is not here to replace it. GoToFile searches fuzzily or via regular expressions. It allows you to find any file on your Mac, not just the ones Spotlight deems appropriate. It lets you define different search-sets when needed, so you can focus on locations you are interested in on-the fly. And it is fast. Because it searches by name/path only and because it stores its small index in memory it shows results from tens of thousands of files before you have released the key.

Once you found what you were looking for you can open the file with its default application or with the one you are currently working in. It replaces the macOS file open dialog! Just as easily you can make it type the path of the file into the current application-great for Terminal users. With copy, move, rename and duplicate GoToFile offers basic file management functionality as well. Drag-and-drop to other applications is supported, and so is QuickLook for instant previews.

Case where pressing ⌃⏎ does not initiate rename action
Case where row height is not adjusted when switching from mode representing files to other mode
When recalling previous query, metadata might not be displayed in result set

This seems to be a good product, but I much prefer the absolutely free program EasyFind. I've been using it for many, many years, and it has never failed to be excellent. When I use it together with another superb program, AppCleaner, I can keep my Macs lean, mean, and clean! Definitely a winning combination.

Love this product! As a developer it makes it so easy to navigate to folders using fuzzy search. The ability to open directly in finder or terminal, copy the path, manipulate the file/folder directly or open it in default or active application is so powerful! I noticed a few tiny bugs which I reported to the developer. Feedback and fixes were instant! Ive replaced spotlight with Alfred and GoToFile (Alfred for workflow commands and GoToFile for file/folder based searching/manipulation)
